STREETDANCE COMPETITIONS

Street Dance and Freestyle Dancing competitions are run every Sunday all over the country. Street Dance competitions have become very popular over the last few years due to demand by competitors and the Street events have got bigger. Our school enters once a month. The competitions are run by the SDI (Street Dance International) of which we are members.

Street Gear!

Trainers are a must! Other than this, dancers can wear any street gear that you can buy in a shop, you can be as funky as you want! This makes competitions more accessible to everyone, as costumes do not have to be made.

Tickets are normally around £8 and are required for spectators and dancers. We organise a coach services for dancers, parents/carers to competitions for those who do not have transport.

Dancers get to compete against other schools and most competitions are for championship status. It is up to the dancer how far they want to take it whether it for fun or to a professional level.

IDTA EXAMS

We are members of the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) and students are graded on their standards. Exams help to monitor progress, build confidence, set achievable goals and to reward the pupils for their hard work. On passing an exam they will receive a medal and certificate in which will be awarded on presentation day.
